Bio

Jacque combines her love of nature and science by sculpting animals taking endless inspiration from travels to Sub-saharan Africa, Morocco, South America and Southeast Asia. Although she maintains a studio in Napa much of her time is spent studying animals at the San Diego Zoo. The San Diego Zoo is a world- renowned leader in endangered animal and plant research and it is her honor to support their efforts with her bronze sculptures. She has been fortunate to have been an artist in residence at the Ruwenzori Sculpture Foundation, Uganda. While on location Jacque cast 12' of bronze relief depicting migrating African animals.

Other

1995 -Distinguished Alumni for Arts and Humanities Chico State University Chico CA

44 years as detail animal artist/ coordinator Tournament of Roses Parade, Pasadena CA. I have been an onsite botanical artist for the award winning Fiesta Parade Floats in Irwindale Ca creating textures using botanical materials from petals to grasses to seeds. Challenging projects included replicating gorilla hair (using a black grass) and hair on a 15’ german shepard.

I began work for Fiesta Parade floats in 1975. I was fascinated by the scale of the enormous floats. Moving away for the smaller props needed in the art department I attended Pasadena City College to obtain a welding certificate allowing me to sculpt the large animal forms out of steel for the floats. My first project was a 50’ Chinese dragon for Kodaks entry that was awarded the Sweepstakes trophy.
